Let’s put an end to suffering world-wide!

To be a Trustee of an organisation is an exciting and fulfilling role. The role of a Trustee is to ensure that MerseyAid fulfils its duty to its beneficiaries, through providing aid/ assistance to refugees and the displaced, and delivers on our vision, mission and values:

“To relieve poverty, sickness and distress of persons who are internally displaced or who are refugees fleeing war, persecution or economic distress, by the provision of such aid, medical supplies and equipment, food and assistance for such persons or organisations established to assist them, particularly in France, Syria, Greece, Lebanon, Jordan and Macedonia and other areas as the trustees shall deem fit”.

Working respectfully, mindfully and responding to needs reported from on the ground. We must always be driven by what we are told is needed, not what we think is needed, we are here to help and not dictate or control. We work in solidarity and with the core value that all people are equal no matter religion or sexuality. We work together and stay focussed on why we exist: helping refugee and the displaced.

The statutory duties of a trustee are:

  • To ensure the organisation complies with its constitution
  • To ensure the organisation pursues its objectives as defined in its governing document
  • To ensure the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objectives.
